Oli Olsen is the head of the Seafarers and Manning Department in Bahamas Maritime Authority. Oli is in charge of- and oversees compliance with all STCW training and Certification and Maritime Labour Convention matters, including STCW I/10 agreements with other countries on recognition of STCW certificates.
Oli has a background as a Master Mariner in the merchant fleet and as Barge Supervisor and OIM on Offshore Oil Facilities. After coming ashore Oli has been in charge of training and education of seafarers on the Faroe and advanced from there to become Managing Director of the Faroese Maritime Authority. After that Oli acted as a private training instructor mainly providing training pertaining to ISM, ISPS; Maritime Legislation and Prepare Companies for the implementation of the Maritime Labour Convention. Oli Has also studied An Executive Master of Business Administration in Shipping and Logistics at Copenhagen Business School or the so-called Blue MBA.
