Rev. Stephen Cushing has been the Executive Director and Senior Chaplain for New England Seafarers Mission, located in Boston, MA USA for 23 years. An ordained minister in the Evangelical Covenant Church, he oversees the Seafarers Center at the cruise port in South Boston as well as industrial visitations in South Boston, and Providence, Rhode Island. In 2019, the cruise terminal in South Boston saw 167 cruise ship callings in the 7-month season. During the pandemic he has navigated the crisis by implementing new strategies for industrial ship visitations including Amazon ordering and delivery for crew members. He is currently as member and treasurer for the Board of Directors of the North American Maritime Ministry Association.
