Sarah de Lagarde
Brighter Future Strategist at Janus Henderson Investors

Profile

Sarah de Lagarde is a visionary executive and Brighter Future Strategist at Janus Henderson Investors, recognised for her leadership in corporate communications, responsible innovation, and accessible mobility. Prior to this role, she served as Global Head of Corporate Communications, bringing over 20 years of experience managing reputation, change, and crisis management, as well as media relations at a global level. Throughout her career, she has advised C‑suite leaders at some of the world’s leading financial institutions.

With deep expertise in stakeholder engagement, brand strategy, and sustainability, Sarah helps global organisations navigate complexity with clarity and purpose.

In 2022, Sarah survived a life‑changing accident that resulted in the loss of both her arm and leg. Rather than slowing her down, the experience strengthened her commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessible design. Equipped with an AI‑powered bionic arm, she continues to lead, speak, and inspire, combining professional insight with lived experience to help shape the future of inclusive mobility and technology.

Sarah has held senior roles at Janus Henderson Investors, Schroders, BNY Mellon, BMO, and J.P. Morgan. She holds degrees from UC Berkeley, Cornell University, and ESCP Business School, and speaks four languages.

A sought‑after keynote speaker and media contributor, Sarah has collaborated with global institutions on responsible AI, healthcare innovation, and disability rights. Her TEDxLondon Business School talk has reached international audiences. She is the first woman with double prosthetics to summit Mount Kilimanjaro, a board member of the Janus Henderson Foundation, an ambassador for Global Women in AI, and the author of Cracking the Code.
