John DeLacio

John is a Principal at AVAIO with 12 years of experience across private equity, investment banking, and energy engineering. Before joining AVAIO in 2018, John was an Associate at Goldman Sachs in their Investment Banking Division, executing on over $80 billion of debt underwriting and merger advisory. Prior to Goldman Sachs, John worked at CJL Engineering, an energy consulting and engineering firm focused on commercial buildings, including data center projects. Within CJL’s Energy Solutions Group and as a LEED Accredited Professional, he consulted developers and owners on implementing cogen gas systems, energy efficiency solutions, and energy-use audits. He currently holds the Professional Engineer prerequisite EIT License.

At AVAIO, John leads AVAIO’s new business initiatives, including energy and environmental transition. Within AVAIO Digital Partners, John is responsible for ensuring that each investment progresses in line with AVAIO’s investment case. John graduated magna cum laude from the University of Notre Dame with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering and a double major in Economics.
