HMTX Industries to Showcase SRP & Bio-Polyurethane Flooring Lines at Greenbuild 2022
HMTX Industries leads the flooring industry in sustainability and transparency with certifications and labels that advance the five pillars of the built environment: Human Health, Climate Health, Social Health & Equity, Ecosystem Health, and Circular Economy. HMTX was the first manufacturer in the world to receive a Just℠ 2.0 label and is the only resilient flooring manufacturer with a Just label. HMTX also carries many other certifications & labels: 25 Declare™ labels and over 35 Health Product Declarations® (HPD) representing 50 product lines; FloorScore® certification for all flooring lines; ASSURE Certified™ for all rigid core flooring lines; and Environmental Product Declarations (EPD) for all Aspecta flooring products, with additional EPDs scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2022 for many of its Teknoflor and Metroflor flooring products.
At Greenbuild, you’ll discover HMTX’s new concept: SRP™ rigid core flooring, an alchemy of responsible beauty that will transform plastic bottles into innovative, responsible flooring. Approximately two plastic bottles (PET) are upcycled into each square foot of SRP flooring.
HMTX collaborated with Huntsman, a global manufacturer of differentiated chemicals and global leader in MDI-based polyurethanes, to create this groundbreaking solution in the flooring industry. Together with innovative chemistry, HMTX and Huntsman will help alleviate the challenge of single-use plastics by integrating end-of-life plastic bottles into an environmentally conscious solution.
HMTX will pursue multiple third-party certifications for SRP, including a Declare label, an Environmental Product Declaration, FloorScore, and ASSURE Certified. HMTX will also pursue a Health Product Declaration. SRP is scheduled to launch in December 2023.
Beyond SRP, HMTX will feature its Teknoflor brand’s non-PVC flooring: Naturescapes HPD, and Nature’s Plank & Tile HPD, both engineered for the needs of the commercial market. Naturescapes HPD is Teknoflor’s first luxury sheet good made from organically derived polyurethane processed from castor oil. This resilient sheet flooring product has all the performance advantages of resilient sheet vinyl -- durability, easy maintenance, and flexibility -- but without the vinyl.
Nature’s Plank & Tile HPD bio-polyurethane flooring brings a new sense of versatility and sustainability to the commercial flooring industry. The collection’s 42 visuals include abstracts that mimic both hard and soft surfaces, and a variety of planks inspired by the world’s most popular wood species. Nature’s Tile & Plank HPD is also made from an organically derived polyurethane processed from castor oil and includes all of the benefits of vinyl, but without it.
Naturescapes HPD and Nature’s Tile & Plank HPD come with sustainability certifications and declarations: third-party verified Declare, HPD, EPD, FloorScore, and Cradle to Cradle. Both lines are carbon neutral thanks to Teknoflor’s work with Everland in the REDD+ program.
Beyond product innovation, Sustainability, Transparency, Impact, and Community are the core values of HMTX, driving the development of its products, policies, programs, and partnerships. These values help HMTX foster more meaningful and symbiotic relationships with its employees, customers, vendors, and neighbors. They are the keys to HMTX’s success - current and future.
