Shehla Khan is the Early Education Policy Advisor, at the Education Policy Office-ADEK, where she leads key initiatives shaping early childhood education across the Emirate.
With over 16 years of experience in early education and more than a decade in leadership roles, she has been instrumental in developing and implementing Abu Dhabi’s Early Education Institution (EEI) policies and frameworks, promoting quality, safety, and innovation across the sector.
Previously, as Regional Director for a leading chain of nurseries in Dubai and Abu Dhabi, Shehla oversaw business development, curriculum design, and operational excellence.
She played a central role in the Federal Agency for Early Education (FAEE), contributing to the pilot project, of the development of UAE’s first national early education policies in collaboration with KHDA, SPEA, MOE, and other key government entities.
With more than 24 years in the UAE, Shehla has raised 3 children in Dubai, and is a grandmother of 4 little ones. Shehla continues to remain dedicated to advancing impactful early education policy across the region.
