Paul is the Managing Partner of sustainability consultancy JS Global Advisory and the Founding Director of Zero Carbon Finance Limited. He advises board and management teams at corporate clients across sectors and geographies on a broad range of sustainability subjects based on his clear understanding of business strategy, risk, scenario analysis, regulation and data.
Paul has more than 25 years of experience in senior management & strategy roles in capital markets and the shipping industry. He is a former Executive Director at the Baltic Exchange where he set up and ran its regulated subsidiary from 2009-17. Before joining the Baltic, he spent some two decades in high-profile risk management and business development roles at Morgan Stanley & Chemical Bank (in London and New York) and founded two independent financial services businesses.
He has also trained as a Barrister at Inner Temple in London, studied mathematics at Oxford and, at the start of his career, served as an Infantry Officer in the British Army for four years.
He is a Co-Director of the Certificate in ESG in Shipping course run by Lloyd’s Maritime Academy, has advised the Climate Bonds Initiative on its Shipping Criteria, contributed to a 2023 United Nations Development Program report on social inequality, and is the Official Business & Nature Finance Advisor to The Global Biodiversity Standard.
