Avantika is an expert economist and Partner in Oxera’s Competition and Litigation Practice with extensive experience on competition matters across Europe and beyond. She is co-head of Oxera’s Antitrust practice, where her work focuses on antitrust investigations and litigation, spanning a range of issues including cartels, information exchange, exclusivity, MFNs and other vertical agreements, excessive pricing, rebates, refusal to supply, self-preferencing and other conduct. She has broad sectoral experience with a particular expertise in life sciences, digital and tech sectors. Her clients include companies such as AstraZeneca, Amazon, Booking.com, Dyson, DAF, Ericsson, Google, Nokia, Pfizer, Skyscanner and Tesla.
Avantika has acted as testifying expert in antitrust and damages litigation and in wider commercial disputes, including in front of the High Court in England & Wales, the UK Competition Appeal Tribunal, and courts in Ireland, India and the Netherlands. She also advises on merger assessments and partnerships/JVs.
She has a PhD in Economics from Pennsylvania State University, and is recognised in The International Who’s Who of Competition Lawyers & Economists since 2017 and Who’s Who Thought Leaders. Avantika has also been actively involved in economics training of EU judges since 2015.
