Profile
Craig provides strategic advice to clients across all areas of FTI’s Technology offering, including specific counsel to clients in relation to the data aspects of competition and antitrust matters.
Craig’s engagement experience over his 25+ years focused solely on forensic technology includes multi-jurisdictional cartel and abuse of dominance investigations, merger clearance reviews, and follow-on damages claims. His work has enabled corporations to respond to enquiries from the European Commission, UK Competition & Markets Authority, US Department of Justice and Federal Trade Commission, as well as other Competition Authorities around the world. He has also developed and deployed the data aspects of dawn raid readiness programmes for multi-national corporations around the world.
His work has included leading teams that combined data privacy, information governance, and forensic technology experts to develop and deploy some of the first data-driven remedies required by the European Commission.
During his career he has provided both written and oral expert evidence in the High Court in London, and has testified at depositions in the United States, as well as submitting written expert evidence into other forums such as employment tribunals and arbitrations.
Craig has provided forensic technology counsel to clients on some of the most complex and demanding matters that have taken place over the last twenty-five years, including the Madoff investigation, and the LIBOR and Foreign Exchange regulatory enquiries. These matters have required him to undertake detailed work in industries including financial services, manufacturing, banking and petrochemicals, and in jurisdictions throughout Europe, the Americas, Asia and the Middle East.
Craig has authored numerous articles that have been published in the European and US legal and technical press and is a frequent conference speaker on subjects including the complex data aspects of merger clearance reviews, and multi-jurisdictional investigations.
Craig has been recognised by Who’s Who Legal as a “Global Elite Thought Leader” in their Data Experts report each year since 2018, and in their Digital Forensics Experts report each year since 2016. He has received comments including that he “earns glowing praise for his extensive experience of multi-jurisdictional investigations, particularly those relating to anti-competitive behaviour”, is “considered by his clients as being dynamic and creative”, and “wins effusive praise for providing top- notch counsel in matters relating to evidence collection and disclosure in multi-jurisdictional investigations”.
