Emmelie Wijckmans heads the abuse of dominance, horizontal agreements and cartels practice within Faros (Belgian boutique firm focusing on competition law, data protection law and compliance). Her experience further extends to merger control and distribution agreements in which areas she frequently assists clients. She regularly represents clients in court proceedings on competition law, both at the EU and the Belgian level.

Emmelie also regularly publishes in the field of competition law. One of her latest publications is a practical handbook (377 p.) on Belgian competition law in the “Bos door de bomen” series of which she is a co-author.

Emmelie is a qualified lawyer in Belgium. Her Belgian alma mater is the University of Antwerp, where she obtained a Bachelor and Master in law degree. She also obtained an LL.M. from the University of Virginia (USA). Emmelie started her legal career at the Washington DC office of Crowell & Moring, after which she moved to its Brussels office. In 2018, she joined contrast. In 2022, Emmelie co-founded Faros.
