James Peters is a Deputy Legal Director, leading a team of lawyers advising Ofgem’s Networks directorate. James also coordinates legal advice on competition matters at Ofgem, a concurrent competition authority in Great Britain’s energy sector, and represents Ofgem in the UK Competition Network.

Since joining Ofgem in 2014, James has advised on competition investigations that led to an infringement decision, commitments decisions, a transfer of an investigation to the CMA and the closure of a case on administrative priority grounds. James’ broader practice also encompasses advising on the application of retained EU law in the energy sector.

Before working at Ofgem, James was a competition and litigation lawyer at leading international law firms in Brussels and London.
