Lucy Rigby is a Partner at Hausfeld in London. She specialises in large-scale collective redress and has particular expertise in opt-out collective actions brought before the Competition Appeal Tribunal. Notably, Lucy was part of the teams which filed the country’s first standalone opt-out claims on behalf of rail passengers in 2019, represented the Consumers’ Association (Which?) in its intervention in Mastercard v Merricks before the Supreme Court in 2020 and, most recently, filed an opt-out claim against Qualcomm on behalf of approximately 29 million smartphone purchasers (also representing Which?). Lucy also has experience of opt-in claims brought via GLOs and she is currently part of the team investigating claims against Daimler/Mercedes-Benz on behalf of thousands of Hausfeld clients. Lucy has conducted litigation before the Competition Appeal Tribunal, the High Court, the Court of Appeal and the Supreme Court. She has worked on European and domestic antitrust investigations for public and private companies, as well as for the regulator, and has experience of working on high-profile merger transactions.
