Rosalind qualified as a solicitor in 1984 and has advised on competition law for more than thirty years. She spent the whole of her career at Eversheds Sutherland International LLP, becoming a partner in 1989. She was the International Co Chair of the Competition, EU and Trade team at Eversheds from 1994 to 2023, retiring from the partnership in
May 2024. Her experience in private practice included advising on multijurisdictional cartel investigations, abuse of dominance cases, vertical agreements, market investigations and merger control across a wide range of businesses. Ros lead her firm’s work on the impact of the UK’s exit from the EU, was recognised as an expert in relation to that work and spoke and wrote extensively on the meaning and effect of the UK legislation effecting withdrawal from the EU, and of the Trade and Co-operation Agreement and the Withdrawal Agreement. In 2017 a team lead by Ros won the GCR award for behavioural matter of the year for work on the EU Trucks cartel case; she was awarded the Client choice award for Competition Law in 2018 and has been ranked for many years as a Leading Individual in both Chambers UK and European Legal Directories, Best Lawyers and Legal 500. On 3rd June 2024 Ros was appointed as an Ordinary Member of the United Kingdom Competition Appeal Tribunal.
