Russell is a Senior Competition Lawyer at Lloyds Banking Group. He advises on a wide range of competition matters and associated litigation related to behavioural issues, mergers & acquisitions, sector inquiries, s.166 FSMA reviews and state aid. Notable achievements include successfully providing strategic and practical legal advice to support the Group in delivering its strategy including creation and initial public offering of the UK's eighth biggest high street bank, TSB, and assisting the Retained Group to adjust to its new role as service provider and an increased level of regulatory scrutiny; reduction in international footprint and non-core disposals; and taking advantage of opportunities for growth. Russell joined the Group in 2013, bringing with him 7 years’ experience from Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer (London and Tokyo offices). Russell was also a contributing author to Butterworths Competition Law Service.
