Alan is an economist, with degrees from Trinity College and Warwick University. He has worked in a range of regulators and other public sector organisations, including the Office of Fair Trading (now the CMA) and the Office of Rail and Road in the UK, and the Department of Transport in Ireland. He joined the CCPC in 2021 as a Special Advisor to the Chairperson, and is currently the Deputy Director in Competition Enforcement and Mergers, with responsibility for Mergers.
