Jan Blockx is an assistant professor at the University of Antwerp in Belgium. His research covers European economic law, with a focus on EU competition law and industrial policy in an era of turbulent international politics. He also serves as an assessor at the Belgian Competition Authority and as a visiting professor at Kyushu University in Japan. Prior to his academic career, he worked for ten years as a private practitioner at two international law firms in Brussels. His latest book, on EU law for EU digital sovereignty, is due to appear with Intersentia at the end of 2026.
