Ruud van der Velden is a partner at Hogan Lovells in Amsterdam. Ruud has over 15 years’ experience in multi-jurisdictional patent litigation, particularly in the life sciences industry. Besides litigation, Ruud also works with clients on their patent and trade secret protection strategies.

Ruud has an excellent track record in complicated cases. Examples include obtaining a cross-border patent infringement injunction at a time this was considered impossible, successfully enforcing a second medical use patent that was revoked in almost every other jurisdiction, and seizing evidence in a logistical warehouse in the Netherlands in absence of a patent in force in the Netherlands, which evidence was pivotal in securing injunctions in Germany.
