Matthijs van Oers is leading ING’s Global Recovery & Resolution Planning team. He has a senior management role with broad experience in the field of Recovery & Resolution Planning.
Before he worked for 10 years for the De Nederlandsche Bank (DNB) and was involved in recovery and resolution planning after the banking crisis of 2008. He has been responsible for the resolution planning for the three largest banks in the Netherlands and was a member of the Financial Stability Board Cross Border Crisis Management Group. He contributed to banking regulation and policy making on important resolution related topics such as MREL/TLAC, resolution strategies and access to Financial Market Infrastructures. Prior to that he built up extensive experience in the field of Payments and Securities both in an oversight role at DNB as well as in the private sector.
He holds a Master of Science degree in Computer Science and an MBA both from the University of Amsterdam
