Ama Thompson

Ama Thompson is a Senior Syndications Officer at the International Finance Corporation (IFC), where she leads the structuring and execution of mobilization and risk-sharing transactions across Latin America and the Caribbean, partnering with credit insurers to expand financing capacity in the region.

Prior to joining IFC, she was a Senior Political and Credit Risk Underwriter at the African Trade & Investment Development Insurance (ATIDI), where she led underwriting activities in Anglophone West Africa and supported transactions across Africa.

Earlier in her career, she held reinsurance and claims management roles in the insurance industry. Ama is a Chartered Insurance Practitioner and an Associate (ACII) of the Chartered Insurance Institute (UK). She holds an MSc in Economics from the University of Aberdeen, UK.
