Amy Shinkman

Credit and Political Risk U.S. Lead at HDI Global SE

Amy Shinkman is the Credit and Political Risk Lead for HDI Global in the United States. Based in Washington, D.C., she joined HDI in 2026 following a distinguished career spanning more than 25 years in trade credit and political risk insurance.

Prior to HDI, Amy most recently served as Vice President of Export Credit Insurance at the Export-Import Bank of the United States (EXIM), where she led underwriting for the agency's short-term export credit insurance program supporting U.S. exporters, financial institutions, and traders. During her tenure at EXIM, she also held positions in broker relations and underwriting. Earlier in her career, she held underwriting roles with NCM and AIG in London, was a founding member of Atradius' Special Products team, and later served in Singapore as Regional Manager for Special Products at Atradius.

Amy holds an M.A. in International Relations from Johns Hopkins SAIS, a B.A. in East Asian Studies from Brown University, and a Japanese Language Certificate from Keio University in Tokyo.
