Brendan Herley

Brendan Herley is a well-regarded commercial banker with almost 30 years’ experience in trade finance, structured trade and syndicated loans, particularly in emerging markets. He regularly provides advisory services to clients and colleagues related to prevailing market conditions, potential risks and their impact on profitability.

Brendan currently serves as Head of Financial Institutions and Distribution for Bank ABC in New York. He previously held business development roles at Olea Global Pte Ltd and Levantor Capital, helping both trade fintechs develop their networks in the Americas. Prior to that, Brendan spent 6 years in Wells Fargo’s Financial Institution Group loan distribution team, 10 years in Standard Chartered Bank’s syndications team, and 8 years at London Forfaiting (in London and New York) in various roles.

Brendan has served on ATFA/ITFA Americas’ advisory board for over 17 years, and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics and Geography from University College London and a Master’s degree in International Relations and Diplomacy from London University’s School of Oriental and African Studies.
