Andres Ortiz

Global Head of Credit Insurance at Banco Santander

Andres Ortiz is responsible for Credit Insurance of Banco Santander, within the Private Debt Mobilization (PDM) team in Santander Corporate & Investment Bank. He originally joined the bank in Mexico (where he is from) in 2007, moved later to NY and has been based in Madrid since 2015. He began distributing assets via different channels in 2016, and since 2020 his focus has been on the development and growth of Credit Insurance within the Group.

Before Santander, he worked in different industries, including management consultancy, fixed satellite services and software.

Andres has a BSc in Industrial Engineering from Universidad Iberoamericana in Mexico, and an MBA from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
