Tighisti Amare is the Deputy Director of the Africa Programme at Chatham House, a leading global centre for independent policy research and analysis. With over 15 years of experience, she has been instrumental in shaping programme strategy into developing a leading platform for research and dialogue on African affairs.

Tighisti specializes in African political systems, governance, accountability, and foreign relations, overseeing research initiatives that address the continent’s most pressing challenges - from economic governance to regional security. She works closely with international organizations, business leaders, civil society, media, and academic institutions, delivering high-level briefings and contributing to policy analysis. Tighisti is also a member of the advisory board for Acre Impact Capital, supporting efforts to mobilize private capital for sustainable infrastructure investments across emerging markets.
