Chief Executive at Association of Scotland's Self-Caterers (ASSC)
Speaker

Profile

Fiona Campbell, CEO of the Association of Scotland’s Self-Caterers (ASSC) since 2015, has been instrumental in driving the substantial growth of the organisation, which now represents over 1700 members across Scotland. In an ever-changing tourism landscape and as more and more legislation, regulations and business expenses appear on the horizon, as well as the challenges resulting from increasingly stringent global short-term let regulations, the ASSC finds itself increasingly politically engaged on a national and European level. Fiona works with key industry groups and stakeholders to support the representation that puts the ASSC at the forefront of the Scottish Tourism industry.

Her leadership has actively fostered a dynamic self-catering sector essential to Scotland’s tourism economy. Fiona’s expertise extends to policy advocacy, evidenced by her active participation in numerous industry groups both in Scotland and internationally. Recognised as CEO of the Year 2023, Most Influential CEO (Tourism & Hospitality) 2024 and a judge on BBC Scotland's "Scotland's Greatest Escape," Fiona’s achievements include prestigious awards including the Scottish Thistle Awards Regional Ambassador Award 2023, Tourism Individual of the Year (West of Scotland) 2024 and acknowledgment on the UK Women in Trade Associations Top 100 Power List since 2019 and the Trade Association Power List.

Founded in 1978, the Association of Scotland’s Self-Caterers (ASSC) represents over 1,700 members, operating self-catering properties throughout Scotland, from city centre apartments to rural cottages, to lodges and chalets, to castles. Our vision is that the ASSC takes the leading role in advancing a vibrant and prosperous self-catering sector recognised as pivotal to the future of Scotland’s tourism economy. Our purpose is to empower our diverse and professional membership, enabling them to deliver exceptional experiences to guests. Our focus is on supporting businesses and communities in the promotion of Scottish self-catering as a sustainable, inclusive and responsible form of accommodation.
