Grace Pinault is a senior associate at Gowling WLG, where she practises planning and environmental law. She has extensive experience bringing biodiversity net gain (BNG) and nutrient schemes to market. She advises landowners, responsible bodies and local authorities on the conservation covenants and section 106 agreements that secure natural capital, and acts for both buyers and sellers on high-value, complex BNG and nutrient credit sale agreements. For the Planning Advisory Service, Grace wrote the template legal agreements and conditions for securing BNG; these are currently used by approximately 60% of local planning authorities in England.

She is also a Harvard-educated environmental scientist, and draws on her technical background to support clients across the natural capital sector and throughout the planning lifecycle.
