About Flame East Med

Flame East Med will serve as a platform for fostering partnerships among buyers and sellers, governments, regulators, energy companies and investors, driving collaboration in the region, whilst examining how Eastern Med gas could have an impact on the global arena.

The Eastern Mediterranean region is emerging as a critical hub for energy exploration, production and geopolitics. The region holds vast producing and untapped natural gas reserves, offering a significant opportunity to bolster regional energy security and supply European markets. As of 2026, the region continues to navigate its transition from a series of individual discoveries to an integrated energy hub with LNG import and export infrastructure and cross-regional pipelines. Its strategic importance lies in utilizing Egypt's existing LNG infrastructure, whilst most importantly continue to examine new export routes and tracks from the region, such as FLNG as well as to understand how the region can help support the developments in the Vertical Gas Corridor, develop the IMEC project, diversify routes away from Hormuz and import gas into Greece and Türkiye.
