Sun Noodle is a family-owned noodle maker founded in Hawai‘i in 1981 by Hidehito Uki, who moved from Tochigi, Japan with only a suitcase and a noodle machine. His mission was simple: to bring high-quality Japanese noodles to more people. In the early days, he visited local chefs door to door, sharing fresh noodle samples and customizing recipes to match each chef’s needs. Together with his wife, Keiko, he built Sun Noodle with a deep commitment to craft, service, and the spirit of aloha.

Rooted in Japanese noodle-making tradition and Hawai‘i’s multicultural food culture, Sun Noodle produces a wide variety of fresh noodles, including ramen, yakisoba, udon, nihon soba, saimin, Okinawa soba, chow mein, and more. Today, the company has expanded beyond Hawai‘i to California, New Jersey, and the Netherlands, while continuing to support chefs, restaurants, retailers, and foodservice partners with authentic, high-quality noodles. Led forward by the next generation of the Uki family, Sun Noodle remains dedicated to innovation, collaboration, and sharing the joy of noodles with communities around the world.
