Ilias Maragakis brings a holistic perspective to airports having worked for regulators and industry. Ilias is the Associate Partner of Lufthansa Consulting specializing in infrastructure and optimizing operations for both airports and airlines. He has more than 20 years of aviation experience, having worked as Chief Operating Officer for Fraport Greece until 2022, through all the stages of the privatization of the Greek regional airports: startup, construction, development and operations optimization. His past experience also includes a career in the EU Aviation Safety Agency (EASA), in safety management, government and regulatory relations roles. In the past, Ilias has worked in the UK for consultancies and air cargo operators.

Ilias has an Executive MBA from Maastricht University in the Netherlands and an MSc in Airport Planning & Management from Loughborough University in the UK.
