Profile

Jaime is an Associate Director in the Division of Enforcement where she supervises both accountants and attorneys. Prior to that, she spent almost two years working for Commissioner Mark T. Uyeda while he served as both Commissioner and Acting Chairman of the Securities and Exchange Commission in the roles of Senior Advisor and Enforcement Counsel and as a Policy Counsel. Jaime was a Senior Counsel in the Securities and Exchange Commission's Division of Enforcement in the Fort Worth Regional. She is skilled in leading SEC investigations, taking testimony and depositions, public speaking, case strategy, and conducting negotiations with opposing counsel. While working as counsel to the Commissioner, she has had the opportunity to draft speeches and statements, work on proposed and final rule-making, and advise on enforcement related matters.

Prior to joining the SEC, Jaime was a Vice President in the Regulatory Relations Group at Morgan Stanley, where she managed regulatory exams. She worked as a litigation associate at Schulte, Roth & Zabel, where she focused on commercial litigation and enforcement actions. Jaime spent six years in the United States Army Judge Advocate General's Corps. While on active duty, she served as a legal assistance attorney, administrative law attorney and a prosecutor for the 25th Infantry Division in Hawaii before spending two years as a defense attorney. Additionally, Jaime served as a prosecutor at the Office of Military Commissions in Washington D.C., which is a Department of Defense office responsible for the prosecution of the military tribunals at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. Jaime has tried dozens of bench and jury trials and has a passion for advocacy and problem solving.
