Karen Breslau is founder and principal of Feature Well Stories, a narrative strategy firm in Oakland, California. She provides editorial and strategic guidance to businesses, universities and nonprofit organizations addressing economic, geopolitical and demographic trends and is an experienced moderator of live events with high-profile leaders.
Karen works with the Stanford Center on Longevity (SCL) as editor of SCL Magazine. Previously, Karen served as California bureau chief for Bloomberg and was a foreign, diplomatic and White House correspondent for Newsweek magazine. Karen co-authored How Safe Are We? Homeland Security since 9/11 with former U.S. Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano.She began her career at National Public Radio and her work has also appeared in WIRED and the New York Times magazine.
Karen holds degrees in International Relations and German summa cum laude from U.C. Davis and a Master's in Political Science from U.C. Berkeley. She was selected as a JSK fellow at Stanford and is the recipient of numerous journalism awards.
