Michele Clifford is the Chief Operating Officer and Chief Compliance Officer for Toronado Capital Management. She has over 20 years of experience in managing operations and compliance both in and out of the investment management industry. Michele began her career in 1996 at the San Francisco Business Times as Head of Operations and from 2000 through 2003 served as Head of Operations for OTA Off The Record Research, a grassroots investment research organization and broker dealer. Michele joined Passport Capital, LLC in 2004 where she served as Head of Operations reporting to the COO in managing all regular firm operations including investor relations, management company reporting, office management,

administration, and human resources, and a particular deep focus on compliance with the Firm’s decision to register as an investment adviser with the SEC in 2006. From 2011 through June 2016 Michele had the role of Director of Investor Relations where she managed the IR team to support the 600+ investors in the Passport family of hedge funds and worked along with the sales team to assist with raising a total of $4 Billion as a department during her tenure. Michelegraduated from the University of California, Berkeley where she earned a B.A. in Art History.
