Mr. Asem is Oaktree’s Chief Technology Officer. He joined the firm in 2025 with over 25 years of experience transforming Fintech and SaaS companies by operationalizing tech and data strategies and delivering AI-infused solutions at scale. Prior to Oaktree, he was WEX’s Head of Data and AI Tech Transformation where he was responsible for building modern AI and tech solutions for customers, partners, and product and commercial teams at the firm. Previous experience also includes roles as CDO at Donnelley Financial Solutions, Avalara, Slalom, Protiviti and CGI. Mr. Asem earned M.S. in Analytics & AI from Northwestern University and B.S. in computer engineering from the University of Alabama. He currently teaches at Northwestern University and an avid volunteer in the community.
