Travis DeForge is the Director of Cybersecurity at Abacus, where he leads a world-class cybersecurity team providing high-quality penetration testing, malicious adversary simulation, threat intelligence, and cybersecurity strategy services and a 24/7 security operations center (SOC), and incident response. With extensive experience serving clients from small businesses to Fortune 500 enterprises, Travis has personally conducted hundreds of Red Teaming, Purple Teaming, and penetration testing engagements throughout his career.

Holding a Master's degree in Information Technology Management, Travis possesses numerous certifications in networking, project management, cybersecurity, and cloud computing. He is also an internationally published author on network penetration testing using open-source tools.

Prior to joining Abacus, Travis served as an Active Duty Military Intelligence Officer in the US Army. During his military tenure, he held several positions related to signals intelligence (SIGINT), open-source intelligence (OSINT), and electronic warfare (EW), primarily supporting large-scale intelligence operations in Europe. Travis leverages his unique blend of intelligence community and technical expertise to deliver high-quality cybersecurity insights to clients, making him a valuable asset in the ever-evolving landscape of information security.

He leads global cybersecurity operations, overseeing offensive security, governance, risk and compliance (GRC), virtual CISO services, security operations, incident response, vulnerability management, and cybersecurity research and development.

A former U.S. Army Military Intelligence Officer, Travis combines intelligence tradecraft, risk analysis, and technical cybersecurity expertise to help organizations navigate complex threat and regulatory environments. His work focuses on architecting scalable cybersecurity programs that align security outcomes with business growth and operational resilience.

Travis holds a master’s degree in information technology management and is a frequent speaker and published author on cybersecurity, risk management, and emerging threats. He has presented at leading industry events including Abu Dhabi Finance Week, Private Equity International (PEI), LPGP, and other global conferences focused on financial services, private markets, and cybersecurity.
