Event update

After careful consultation with the industry and our key stakeholders, we have taken the decision to move this year’s edition of Global Liner Shipping to May 2022.

At Global Liner Shipping, we are wholly committed to delivering the high-value business and networking events that the industry wants and deserves. The feedback we have received indicates that that while the industry strongly desires a face-to-face event, due to the ongoing global travel restrictions in place, you feel that this year’s Global Liner Shipping event would benefit from a revised date and that a return to its traditional Spring scheduling is most preferable.

We have listened to your feedback and we look forward to welcoming the Liner Shipping community back together, in-person, in May 2022. Please look out for more information coming soon, and if you have any questions, please do get in touch.

Key Themes

A new generation of sustainability in shipping is unfolding and you are a part of it. At Global Liner Shipping, leaders of change meet to answer questions about the structure of supply chain strategy, the nature of strategic alignment, and the logic of future visioning exercises.

The post-pandemic landscape

  • Analysing financial performance, market, and capacity fluctuations
  • A critical look at the supply chain - how much resilience do we want to build in?
  • The essential 5-10 year outlook for the liner business

The next phase of digital transformation

  • Check-in on implementation and wider impact on traditional industry players
  • Update on standardisation and next steps
  • Digitalisation at ports and terminals

The Decarbonisation agenda and liner shipping

  • Mapping out the process – where are we vs where we should and want to be?
  • Planning for the carbon tax – what lessons should we learn from the sulphur tax?
  • Rebuilding trust and collaboration

This year, GLS Europe was remarkable by opening a new mature area for the maritime segment of the transport industry. This was reflected by its content on critical  IMO 2020, block exemption discussions, market reports, and Digital standardisation. A new paradigm is slowly but surely emerging whereby size performance might not matter as much as your service, value creation and dexterity to make it easy for the client to book your services. GLS definitely to attend now and tomorrow.
