After more than a decade as a trial lawyer, prosecuting and defending in serious criminal cases, Rob Dalling now acts for both corporate and individual clients in a wide range of regulatory and criminal matters.
Rob serves international companies in sectors including energy, extractive, financial services, medical, hospitality, and real estate across the United Kingdom, the European Union, the United States and beyond, offering well-informed, user-friendly, and pragmatic advice based on his knowledge of each client’s business. With his extensive courtroom experience, Rob’s counsel is invaluable in internal and external investigations into misconduct. He advises companies on financial crime policies and procedures in areas including financial sanctions, anti-money laundering, and anti-bribery and corruption.
Rob has significant experience in data privacy matters, having acted for clients in regulatory enforcement action (UK Information Commissioner’s Office), as well as advising on a wide range of data privacy issues, including Data Subject Access Requests, data privacy notices, and international data transfer issues.
Rob has particular experience in financial and trade sanctions and export controls, and regularly advises financial institutions and other companies on complex issues in these areas. He also helps clients assess business integrity and reputational risks presented by their operations and/or business partners in existing and new markets.
Rob acts for individuals in regulatory and criminal cases relating to allegations of financial and other misconduct, often involving agencies such as the Financial Conduct Authority and the National Crime Agency. He has particular experience representing clients in civil recovery investigations brought by the NCA in relation to conduct occurring outside the UK. He has an outstanding record in securing successful settlements that achieve full and final resolution of such matters. He also assists clients with Interpol issues.
Rob is a member of the firm’s Office of General Counsel, and is closely involved in a wide range of risk management issues within the firm.
