How is the asset management industry developing in Abu Dhabi?

Lawrence Paramasivam, Senior Executive Director of Policy & Legal, ADGM, paid a visit to the IMpower Studios to discuss the development of the asset management industry and ADGM in Abu Dhabi, where the areas of growth are and what sustainable finance regulatory developments ADGM are introducing.

Under the spotlight: Lawrence Paramasivam

Lawrence Paramasivam is the Senior Executive Director of the Policy & Legal Division at the Financial Services Regulatory Authority (FSRA) at Abu Dhabi Global Market (ADGM). He is responsible for overseeing the FSRA’s Policy and Legal teams. Lawrence took up this role with ADGM in April 2021, having held 25 years of legal, financial services regulatory, financial crime and leadership experience. Prior to joining ADGM, Lawrence held a number of leadership positions in Australia and the UAE, including senior roles at the Dubai Financial Services Authority and the Australian Securities and Investments Commission. Lawrence participated in international assessments of the UAE by the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) and the OECD in relation to financial crime and tax related matters. Lawrence holds a Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Business-Accountancy from the Queensland University of Technology, as well as having achieved Graduate Diplomas in an Executive MBA from the Mt. Eliza Business School Australia and Company Secretarial Practice from the Chartered Secretaries Australia; and an Islamic Finance Qualification from the Securities and Investments Institute of the UK.
