Randy Harwell has been employed by the Department of Justice for 35 years and has been Chief of the Civil Division for the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Middle District of Florida since 2011. He has been a civil AUSA there since 2004. He has led the district’s affirmative civil enforcement program since 2005 and is the architect of one the nation’s premier civil healthcare fraud practices under the False Claims Act. Prior to joining the U.S. Attorney’s Office, Randy served as a trial attorney for fourteen years in the Department of Justice’s Commercial Litigation Branch in Washington, D.C.
