Valerie Sullivan is an accomplished C-suite health tech executive, Board Member and executive advisor who has guided multiple biopharma, healthcare and health technology organizations through major transformation and growth. She has a track record of delivering significant results at the Fortune 100 level, as well as delivering both exponential growth and successful exits for emerging and/or novel healthcare solutions.

Valerie has extensive experience as a trusted Board Member and executive advisor. She is currently Chairman of the Board of Massachusetts’ Group Insurance Commission, a $2.8B healthcare organization, after being named to the Board by the Governor of Massachusetts and voted Chair by her peers. Other present and past Board roles include Chairman of Sarcometrics, Board Member of etectRx; Board Member of CareMetx; Board Member and Compensation Committee Member of Two Labs Marketing; Board of Directors, Finance Committee and Fundraising Committee for the Visiting Nurse Association, and Trustee, Audit/Finance Committee Member and CEO Search Committee Member for Massasoit Community College.

Valerie has been frequently brought in as an executive advisor to emerging companies, working with investors to assess companies’ brand strengths, market positions, executive team leadership, and organizational capability to deliver against growth goals. She has steered multiple turnarounds, conducted due diligence to guide M&A activity, advised companies on acquisition and growth strategies, and she has become an instrumental leader in identifying and packaging future market-leading companies across the healthcare/healthtech sector.

Valerie’s Board and advisory expertise follows her success in her own successful C-suite career as a top healthcare, healthtech and biopharma executive. Most recently, as Chief Commercial Officer of COPILOT, a HUB services company serving the pharmaceutical, medical device and life-science markets, Valerie transformed their market positioning to enable a significant increase in revenue, along with a revitalized goto-market strategy to ensure high engagement. Before COPILOT, Valerie was CEO and President of etectRx, which offered an innovative, ingestible event marker and data platform to detect patient adherence and promote better outcomes. There, she stabilized the company and built a winning strategy for fundraising and commercial success. Prior to this role, Valerie was President of InVentiv Patient Access Solutions, which she turned around from an unprofitable company into a successful, profitable, fast-growth venture with a successful exit.

Valerie has breadth across the healthcare and biopharma industry, including earlier-career roles such as General Manager of Ascend Specialty Pharmacy, which had a growth rate of 100% YOY; Head of Business Development and Operations for SpecialtyScripts Pharmacy, where she took over when it was losing $3M and reversed the trend to deliver $240M in top-line revenue; and Pfizer, where she was promoted seven times through commercial positions of increasing responsibility, including winning Team of the Year multiple times for driving significant national growth. As a reflection of her major contributions to the company and the industry, Valerie achieved a coveted 40 under 40 recognition from the Boston Business Journal.

Valerie teaches management courses as an Adjunct Faculty member at Bentley University, and holds a BA in Chemistry and Economics as well as an MBA with a concentration in Finance and Marketing. She resides in the Greater Boston area and is open to nationwide Board roles, advisory work, or C-Suite leadership positions.
