Alison ReidMA Operations Team Lead at J&J Innovative Medicine CanadaSpeaker
Profile
Alison has spent most of my career in various Medical Affairs roles honing her skills and expertise facilitating culturally diverse teams of healthcare professionals, to assess, develop, and facilitate educational programs/training. Throughout this time, she has been widely successful working in many different areas of healthcare and with a wide variety of healthcare professionals. Her success includes working in multiple regions around the world (Canada, Asia, Middle East, and Latin America) with a vast array of Healthcare Practitioners and Key Opinion Makers (physicians, researchers, nurses, payers, institutions etc.).
From 2017-2020 Alison successfully transferred her skills and expertise to other global industries including but not exclusive to automotive, agriculture, healthcare and the non-profit sector before returning to the pharmaceutical industry.
Alison is passionate about human behavior and helping individuals not only learn, but change behaviors, beliefs and improve skills. Her experience has led her to the belief that changing behavior rarely has to do with the data being provided and more to do with the lens in which the individual is looking at the data. Identifying an individual’s beliefs, stories, and past experiences that affect the way in which they perceive the data is the key. Facilitating a safe environment in which these views can be explored, expressed, and shared is essential to changing behavior. Such an atmosphere can increase creativity and innovation while decreasing risk.
Alison has a degree from McMaster University in Kinesiology and Health Science with a minor in Business. She completed a CPD preceptorship with McMaster University’s CPD Department, her Council for Continuing Pharmaceutical Education Certificate– in Adult Learning (CHE) and developed a certified Adult Education Preceptorship for students enrolled in Queens’ University Teacher’s College. She is a certified Facilitator for the “Just Culture in Healthcare” program and the Team Transformation Systems.
Alison has received multiple awards for her work in education. Such as the Canadian Hall of Fame Inductee - Continuing Medical Education.
