Matthew Kuriakose earned his Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering from Rutgers University with a dissertation focused on Blood-Brain Barrier Permeability Following Blast-Induced Traumatic Brain Injury. Shortly after his defense, he joined Abbott’s neuromodulation team and helped launch the investigator-initiated research program. After spending two and a half years with the team, Matt joined Mallinckrodt Pharmaceuticals, where he manages the entire externally sponsored research portfolio (over 50 studies across three specialty brands) and independent medical education programs. He has years of experience working in pharma, engaging investigators, and optimizing processes surrounding IIRs, ECRs, and IMEGs.
