Profile

Shawn Muneio is a Managing Partner at Bequest Asset Management, where he oversees the firm’s credit investment strategy, asset management, and portfolio performance across a diversified portfolio of mortgage loans and real estate–backed credit assets.

Bequest manages investment vehicles focused on acquiring and managing performing, reperforming, and non-performing residential mortgage loans across the United States. The firm’s portfolio includes more than 1,100 loans representing approximately $40 million in unpaid principal balance, with strategies centered on borrower engagement, loan resolution, and longterm value creation for investors.

Prior to co-founding Bequest with Martin Saenz, Shawn built a successful career in the technology sector, where he developed expertise in systems architecture, data analytics, and operational automation. He brings that technology-driven approach to the credit markets, helping modernize loan acquisition, servicing oversight, and portfolio analytics within the firm.

At Bequest, Shawn leads the integration of technology and investment strategy to improve loan performance, enhance borrower outcomes, and create scalable systems for managing large portfolios of mortgage assets. His work focuses on aligning institutional underwriting discipline with operational efficiency in the residential credit markets.

Shawn holds a BS in Management Information Systems and an MBA from the University of South Florida. He is also active in mentoring emerging real estate investors and entrepreneurs.
