John McKinnon is Vice President, Asset Management at RioCan, overseeing a portfolio of 175+ properties totaling approximately 32 million square feet across Canada’s six major markets. He leads a team focused on maximizing asset performance and value creation for retail-focused, necessity-based tenants, while managing strategic plans, cross-department collaboration, and JV partner relationships.

With 25 years at RioCan, John brings deep institutional knowledge and extensive experience in real estate asset management. He began his career at Morguard as a property accountant, gaining exposure to retail, office, and industrial sectors, before joining RioCan in Property Accounting. Since transitioning to Asset Management in 2010, he has advanced into a leadership role and established a proven record of delivering consistent financial results and building strategic partnerships.
