Cameron Weil is a trusted legal advisor for clients navigating the complexities of real estate and capital markets.

With over a decade of experience, Cameron has successfully closed real estate transactions worth several billion dollars for sellers, buyers, owners and lenders. He has also facilitated billions of dollars in real estate securities offerings, including Delaware statutory trusts (DSTs), real estate investment trusts (REITs) and opportunity zone (OZ) funds. By combining a multidisciplinary approach with deep industry insight, Cameron effectively collaborates with clients across all facets of real estate, from transaction structuring to capital raising and deal closing.

Prior to joining Polsinelli, Cameron was a real estate partner at another Am Law 100 firm, where he represented clients in all areas of real estate, but focused on real estate acquisitions and finance and transactions related to DSTs and REITs. Earlier in his career, Cameron was assistant general counsel for the real estate division of a major investment bank and sponsor of DSTs, OZs and REITs. In that role, he negotiated purchase and sale agreements, joint venture agreements and loan documents, while also drafting securities offering documentation. Cameron’s in-house experience honed his understanding of the intersection between business and legal aspects in complex real estate transactions. Cameron began his career as a real estate associate at a prominent Am Law 100 firm, where he represented lenders in the origination and restructuring of commercial real estate mortgage and mezzanine loans, as well as advising on secondary market transactions, including securitizations and repurchase facilities.

A dedicated speaker and author, Cameron is passionate about sharing knowledge and best practices within the industry. He currently chairs both the Real Estate Private Equity Committee of the American Bar Association's Section of Real Property, Trust and Estate Law and the Acquisition/Disposition Subcommittee of the New York City Bar Association’s Real Property Law Committee.
