Dr. Vincent Romanin, the CTO and co-founder of Gradient, is a pivotal figure in the climate technology sector, leading the company from its founding to its creation of an entirely new product category, window heat pumps. He studied at the University of California, Berkeley, earning a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering. Focusing on heat transfer and fluid mechanics of microturbines, Dr. Romanin's research contributed to small-scale solar combined heat and power systems, laying the groundwork for his future work in clean technology.
Before founding Gradient, Dr. Romanin gained valuable experience in the solar industry with companies like Abengoa, Sunfolding, and Otherlab. His participation in Cyclotron Road's Cohort 3 enabled him to launch Gradient, with the mission of accelerating the electrification and decarbonization of buildings while also improving resident comfort and enabling more resilient infrastructure.
