Joseph Griffin is a Partner and Head of the Commercial Real Estate Team. He is responsible for allocation of capital across public and private US Commercial Real Estate sectors including investments within securities, real estate loans, B-pieces, agency debt, and single-family rental sectors. Prior to joining Marathon in 2013, Mr. Griffin spent 11 years at RBS Greenwich Capital, working within the CMBS Trading Group where he focused on secondary credit trading. While at RBS Greenwich, Mr. Griffin also worked within the Real Estate Finance Group, where he worked extensively on securitization and syndication of both floating and fixed rate loans and helped manage the CRE CLO investment banking program and Repurchase Facilities Platform. Mr. Griffin started his career in Chicago at Greenwich Capital, where he was an underwriter and junior originator of commercial real estate loans. Mr. Griffin received a BA in History from Brown University.
