Mike Hu is an Advisor to Gaw Capital Partners, based in Los Angeles. He previously served as Managing Director, Principal, and Co-Head of Gaw Capital USA, where he led the U.S. Capital Markets team and was responsible for capital formation, co-investments, separate accounts, investor relations, and marketing.

Mike joined Gaw Capital in 2011, initially on the acquisitions team in Hong Kong, the firm’s global headquarters, before relocating to Los Angeles in 2014 to help build the U.S. platform.

Prior to Gaw Capital, Mike worked at Tishman Speyer in London and New York through its Leadership Development Program, with rotations across acquisitions, financing, asset management, and development. Earlier in his career, he was a strategy and operations management consultant focused on the real estate and energy sectors.

Mike is Chair of the Association of Foreign Investors in Real Estate (AFIRE) and a member of the Young Presidents’ Organization (YPO) Pasadena Chapter. He holds a BA in Economics and International Area Studies from UCLA and an MBA from London Business School, and is conversationally fluent in Mandarin Chinese.
