Mark W. Smith has been President and Board Member of FirstKey Homes since June 2024. He leads the development of business strategy in coordination with the Board, implementing appropriate risk-management and compliance strategies, driving scalable growth, and developing our best-in-class leadership team. Mark brings 40 years of management experience at both public and private companies across a variety of industries. Prior to joining FirstKey Homes, he was Senior Managing Director and President of Cerberus Operations & Advisory Company, Cerberus’s proprietary operating platform.Mark was Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer for YP Holdings, LLC, which was formerly a Cerberus portfolio company. During his five-year tenure at YP, he was an integral member of the management team responsible for the carve-out of YP from AT&T and, in 2017, he also led the team responsible for the successful sale of YP to Dex Media, Inc. From 1997 to 2012, Mark was Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer at SFN Group Inc., a global human resources outsourcing provider, and, prior to that, held various roles at full-service transportation leader Ryder System, Inc. Mark serves on the Board of Directors of Red River Technology and Exploria Resorts and formerly served on the Boards of Electrical Components International, Source Code and Kellermeyer Bergensons Services, all Cerberus portfolio companies. He graduated from Hillsdale College and is a CPA.
