Adrian Howes is Head of IP and Standards in Nokia’s IP Policy team. Prior to joining Nokia, Adrian worked as a senior litigation counsel at Mylan (now called Viatris), a consultant for Sony Computer Entertainment and an associate in the intellectual property department of the law firm Bird & Bird. He is an English qualified lawyer, and studied chemistry and law at the Universities of Durham and Cambridge, respectively.
Adrian’s work at Nokia presently encompasses IP policy issues around standards, patents and software/open source. This includes active involvement in cross-industry discussions on IPR and its place in the next generation of industry standards at SDOs such as DVB, ETSI and the ITU. Prior to being on Nokia’s IP Policy team, Adrian was part of Nokia’s litigation and legal teams
