Debora is a trainee patent attorney at Appleyard Lees. She mainly works on software-implemented inventions and has a particular interest in protecting AI based technologies. Debora has worked on protecting a variety of AI related inventions in different jurisdictions. She is interested in both the technical and legal aspects involved in protecting such inventions.

Debora holds a first class honours bachelor’s degree in theoretical physics from the University of Edinburgh and a master’s degree in applied mathematics from the University of Cambridge. Her bachelor’s thesis focused on using deep learning to analyse cosmological images. During her master’s degree, she explored how the universe’s early evolution might be detectable today.
