Janki Miles is Joint Head of Intellectual Property International Negotiations, at the Department for Business and Trade. Her portfolio includes delivery of the Intellectual Property chapter in Free Trade Agreements – currently India, GCC, Switzerland and South Korea. She also holds representational responsibilities for the UK at the World Trade Organisation and provides senior leadership across other multilateral fora. Her team also covers specific IP rights such as Geographical Indications, Enforcement and Technology Transfer. Janki has extensive experience in senior leadership roles overseas and in the UK, including most recently at Cabinet Office as Head of Operations for Operation London Bridge, leading the plan for the demise of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. Her civil service career across several government departments has covered high profile areas such as counter-terrorism, migration and transnational crime, with many years spent overseas on diplomatic postings in India, UAE, Philippines, Thailand and Nigeria.
